Services Offered:

Our office offers orthodontic treatments for children, adolescents and adults. Dr. Jones is an ADA (American Dental Association) recognized specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. This means that our office deals exclusively with alignment of teeth and jaws. And because we are specialized, it allows our office to deliver quality treatment results in very efficient manner. We work with other specialists in dental fields such as Pedodontists (children’s dentistry), Oral Surgeons, Periodontists (gum specialists) as well as General dentists to achieve smiles for our patients that are both healthy and beautiful.

Types of treatments:

Early Childhood orthodontics:
Although majority of patients receive orthodontic treatment in their early teens, some dental conditions need to be corrected at an earlier age to prevent major problems from developing in the future. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that your child get an orthodontic check-up no later than age 7.

Two phase orthodontics:
As children transition from baby teeth to adult teeth, they go through a “mixed” dentition stage where both adult and baby teeth exist in the mouth at the same time. If dental problems occur during this stage, it often becomes necessary for the treatment to be broken up in to two parts. Two-phase orthodontic treatment consists of two separate times when a child receives orthodontic treatment. A first phase of treatment is done while the child still has many or most of their primary or “baby” teeth. A second phase takes place when the child has most or all of their permanent teeth. Braces may or may not be used during a first phase of treatment. Between the two phases, there is usually a waiting period while the teeth erupt.

Adolescent orthodontics:
Adolescence is usually the ideal time for patients to receive orthodontic treatment. Most common problems such as crowding and minor jaw imbalances can be corrected readily at this age. The rapid growth that occurs during adolescence can be used to correct variety of dental and skeletal problems. Once the bones have fully developed, certain conditions can only be corrected with surgical assistance.

Adult orthodontics:
Today, growing number of adult patients are seeking orthodontic care. Dr. Jones recently completed a stunning case for a lovely lady. She was thrilled with the results. She also happened to be 67. Approximately a quarter of Dr. Jones’ patients are adults. Whether they are seeking to correct minor relapse from previous braces or a complete dental transformation, recent advances in orthodontics such as Invisalign and Ceremic braces have made it much more convenient and esthetic for adults to receive orthodontic treatment.

Orthognathic Surgery Cases:
Although vast majority of patients can be treated effectively with appliances alone such as braces, certain cases cannot be corrected fully without surgical procedures. Severe jaw discrepancies may require jaw surgeries along with braces to correct them. These cases will involve a team effort between Dr. Jones and the oral surgeon. Surgical option should not be taken lightly, but the results often show dramatic esthetic and functional improvements.
